Ten 16 Entertainment



TEN16 ENTERTAINMENT officially hit the Canadian Christian music scene in 2009 as an independent entertainment promotions company committed to the education and promotion of emerging talent and the creation of tools to help stimulate industry growth.  These areas were expanded into three separate branches to meet the needs of the industry and to be able to adapt with the ever-changing music industry.

  • EDUCATIONAL > workshops/consultation for emerging artists.
  • PROMOTIONAL > radio promotions for new singles/DVDs/ books and promoters to increase awareness of the artists their touring and to help determine which markets to visit.
  • INDUSTRY TOOLS > a national chart to track which are the most spun songs being played by Christian radio.

Recognizing early on the importance for artists to have professional representation when dealing with the media, TEN16 developed a variety of packages to reach both the promotional and financial needs of their clients.  These general packages are then tailored to fit the overall objective of the client to help them reach their individual goals.

TEN16 also identified a need for song information to be collected and the information made available to all avenues of the industry to help strengthen the Canadian Christian music industry’s identity.  Upon acquiring full rights to its flagship project; a top 30 chart called the CCRC, TEN16 was able to continue to actively seek out ways to contribute in this regard.  The CCRC is designed to be an industry resource for the Canadian and International Christian music industries to better understand the Canadian market and to help give exposure to Canadian songwriters.

TEN16 is not only focused on the representation of domestic artists, but also on international music enthusiasts interested in exploring the Canadian Christian market whether they are an artists, manager, agent, label, etc.  The key is the dedication to the promotion of great songs!

Over a span of 10 years, Hollie Sackett-Reid has worked directly in or with Canadian radio. Starting her career at mainstream station Mix 96 and then Power 92 in Edmonton, she had a solid base to grow from when it came to promotions, community involvement and the studio.

It was her passion for positive entertainment that lead her to AM930 CJCA, where she had the opportunity to work in the news department and then eventually on-air as afternoon drive host.  It was also here that she had the privilege of being there to help launch 105.9 Shine FM and assist in presenting several TCB new station applications in front of the CRTC Board.

In 2006, Sackett-Reid took a brief break from her full time radio career to take an entertainment business management course at Harris Institute for the Arts (Toronto).  While there she also managed artists, but the break did not last long.  She was quickly involved with voice tracking work and following her graduation; spent some time in London, ON where she took on the roll of station manager for CHJX-FM.   Shortly thereafter, Sackett-Reid headed back to Toronto, where she worked as the Director of the Christian Division for independent radio promotions company Dale Speaking Ltd.  After two years of being able to incorporate what she learned from both the radio and entertainment industries as an artist manager, agent and radio promoter, it was time for her to branch out on her own.  This was the inception of TEN16 ENTERTAINMENT.


Loretta Slomp, Radio PromoterWith a curiosity and a passion for Christian music, small town Alberta girl Loretta Slomp, ventured the big city of Toronto to discover the music business. She earned a diploma in Entertainment Management (Music Business) from Trebas Institute, a school specifically devoted to the arts industry. Her program included internships at Curve Music / Cerberus Artist Management and at Skylar Entertainment. After graduation, she started the Christian music division for Dale Speaking Ltd., a radio promotions company. As manager of that division, Loretta promoted artists like Greg Sczebel, Amanda Falk and also helped promote secular country singer Jason Aldean to mainstream radio. She was also tour manager and publicist of Paul Brandt’s, The Christmas Convoy tour with Operation Christmas Child, which took her across Canada.

Loretta then started Cranberry Music Relations promoting and advising artists like Sebastian Demrey across Canada. She now partners with Ten16Entertainment to promote Canadian artists nationally. Loretta also uses her skills in a variety of ways. She recently helped promote and manage a conference with Faith Beyond Belief, a Calgary-based Christian apologetics ministry. The event drew 1000 people from all across Western Canada. She looks forward to promoting more Christian music in Canada.
